Nesting Dolls!

I am always on the lookout for craft books at the thrift store. There are tons of gems from the 60s and 70s out there, and Golden Hands is one of my favourite publications (both the books and magazines). A lot of the stuff is genuinely easy to update or needs no changes. The reason I grabbed these issues was for some embroidery transfers and these canvaswork dolls:

Aren’t they sweet? My own set of matryoshka dolls is one of my childhood treasures. They were given to me by my grandma when I was four or five, and were a favourite at Kindergarten show and tell.

(Apologies for the dull photos, fall has hit Vancouver and brought about the grey apartment light.)

I love the photo (no apology needed - the light is really nice) and it brings back memories. I had a nearly identical set, and loved them. Sadly, they are long gone.
