I ♥ Thrift Shops
On the weekend, I took a drive with my mum and aunt to go to the thrift shops out in the suburbs. This is something I remember doing with them even as a child, and I’ve always loved the thrill I get when something pops out at me from a shelf or a rack.
These espresso cups were just a dollar. I don’t drink straight espresso very often, but these will be ideal for when I do. A few months ago I found an espresso machine for $7 at one of the thrifts, and it makes a pretty good shot. The steamer is a bit wonky, which is sad. I love steamed soy, and need to find some way of making it myself.
The butterfly pin is plastic, and the bird appears to be hand carved. (The bar pin on the back is hot glued on!) Both would be really sweet on a sweater when the weather is right.
This is one of those things that just jumped out at me. Polka dots are one of those things that I am drawn to like iron to a spotted magnet. There were 5 of them, and I took them all for a total of $1.25. I wonder a bit about what must have happened to the sixth, because mugs aren’t often sold as sets of 5.
Buttons are one of my favourite details on footwear. There’s a bit of a scuff at the toe, but nothing shoe polish can’t fix.
Unfortunately, the corner of my desk that appears in these pictures is the only clean one :( I have to get cracking on organizing my work space because it is really the only place I have to craft. The joys of small apartment living.

I know this is an old post, but I had to say that I bought the exact same espresso cups in a thrift store in Abbotsford!
