Polka Dots!
This dress used to be seriously not my style. It had nearly elbow-length dolman sleeves, and the hem fell to that weird point between mid-calf and ankle. I looked like I was wearing a hand-me-down church dress. But the polkadots called to me from the rack at Value Village on half-price day, and for $2 I figured I could make it more wearable. The sleeves were cut off and the hem raised, and bound off with bias tape that I had in my stash. I think bias tape is fantastic, and I’d like to start making my own for finishing the raw edges of seams because finding the narrow stuff is hard. This is a neat technique found through bits and bobbins, and I might try it when I get a rotary cutter.
